General Recruitment Questions

Using the AVFC Careers website

The AVFC Careers website looks different! Has it changed?

Yes. We have recently upgraded our AVFC Careers website which launched in February 2022 so things will look a bit different.

How do I use the new AVFC Careers website?

Click the following link to view our How to Use the AVFC Careers Website Guide

I had an account on the old AVFC Vacancy Search Site - will I need to create a new account on the new website?

Yes. To apply for a vacancy on the website you will need to register a new account. You can do this by clicking here: Register / Login

I am being asked to upload a photo on my AVFC Careers account - do I have to do this and will this be submitted with any job applications?

No. You can upload a photo to your AVFC Careers account if you wish to do so but this is optional and you can leave this blank. If you do upload a photo it will only be visible to you on your AVFC Careers account and will NOT be submitted as part of any job application.

Can I apply for more than one job?

Yes. Once you have registered for an account on the AVFC Careers website and applied for your first job, you will, in future, be able to log into your account and the system will automatically populate any new application forms with the information provided on your previous application form. You can then edit this information to apply for any other available jobs you are interested in.

We encourage each application to be specific and tailored to each job you apply for so you can demonstrate how you meet the job requirements.

Can I be notified as and when new vacancies are advertised by Aston Villa Football Club?

Yes. You will need to register for an account on the AVFC Careers website and then go to the 'Jobs' area to set up a job alert. There is more information on how to do this in our How to Use the AVFC Careers Website Guide

Can I upload documents such as a CV and Cover Letter alongside my application form?

Yes. There is a document upload section as part of the application form where you will be able to upload word documents or PDF documents up to a size of 10MB.

How do I know if my application has submitted successfully?

Once you have submitted your application, you should receive an automatic email from the system confirming that your application has been submitted. If you have not received this, please check your junk folder! If you have still not received the email, please contact us and we will be able to confirm if your application has been received.

How does the Club handle my personal data?

The Club has a Privacy Notice for Applicants and Candidates which describes what information the Club collects during the Club’s application and recruitment processes, why the Club collects it, how the Club uses that information, how and where the information is stored, and how to access and update that information.

The Recruitment Process

How will I know if I have been shortlisted for interview for a role?

Please be aware that due to the high volume of applications we receive, if you have not received a response to your application within 6 weeks, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.

If you have been shortlisted for an interview, the Club will be in touch with you via email (from our email address) to invite you to an interview. Please make sure you always check your junk folder!

If I have not been shortlisted for interview, can I request feedback?

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications we are unable to provide feedback if you have not been shortlisted for an interview.

Do you request references before an offer of employment is made?

The Club will normally only request references if an offer of employment is made. If you have stated that you do not grant the Club permission to contact your referees, we will ask for your permission before any requests are sent.

If I am offered a role, what will happen?

If you are successful following your interview, the Recruiting Manager and the Human Resources Team will be in touch with you to discuss the onboarding process.
