1. The Department

Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded the prestigious category one status accolade demonstrating that we provide the highest level of quality coaching, education, training and facilities for our youth football provisions.

In order to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent we have an exciting opportunity for a Performance Nutritionist to join the Academy Sport Science and Medicine Department. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the physical and nutritional development of our academy players, ensuring they fulfill their full potential.

2. The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Performance Nutritionist to join our expanding team.

The role will be responsible for leading, co-ordinating, supporting and delivering expert player centered Nutritional provision to our Boys Academy players.

You will contribute towards the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department’s vision of optimising player health, availability, engagement and performance through an elite evidence-based nutritional provision.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who has a passion for performance nutrition and player education with a desire to help young players through the challenges of growth and maturation. 3. The Person

To be considered for this role, you will need to hold the following qualifications:

*       BSc (Hons) in Nutrition, Sport and Exercise Science, or related discipline

*       MSc Sports & Exercise Nutrition or equivalent

*       Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENr) Accreditation

You must have demonstratable experience in providing high-quality effective performance nutrition programmes to elite young athletes in a full-time capacity within a professional sport. You will require a comprehensive understanding of the science that supports a young players nutritional performance, physical and sleep health, growth and maturation, athletic development, body composition, recovery, hydration, injury prevention and supplementation.

You must be able to work in a team environment with previous demonstratable experience of working collaboratively within Interdisciplinary and Multi-Disciplinary Teams.

Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (Category 1 Academy) and previous experience in managing and overseeing players out on loan would be desirable.
