1. The Department
Our Boys Academy Department is proud to have achieved the prestigious Category One Academy status which reflects our commitment to delivering excellence across all areas of youth football including coaching, education, training, and facilities. We are dedicated to supporting and nurturing the next generation of elite footballers, as demonstrated in our memorable treble-winning 2024/25 season for our U18s as we topped the Under-18 Premier League Southern section table, the Under-18 Premier League national title and we lifted the prestigious FA Youth Cup.
The Boys Academy Education Department is responsible for delivering the Education provision to the players aged 16-18 on a full-time training programme as well as liaising with schools to monitor academic attainment for players aged 9-16.
To continue to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent at this level, we have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and proactive individual to join our Education Department as Assistant Head of Education.
2. The Role
You will be responsible for supporting the management and delivery of the Education Program ensuring players achieve aspirational education outcomes. You will have a specific focus on the delivery of the Apprenticeship and Education provision to our Professional Development Phase for players aged 16-18 years old.
You will work alongside the Head of Education, and other members of the Education Department and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), planning the delivery of the BTEC in Sporting Excellence Professional and the Sporting Excellence Professional Apprenticeship. This role requires you to be flexible within your practice as you will be working within a fluid environment.
You will be responsible planning, delivering, and assessing outstanding lessons to improve the players understanding on topics to support their performance. An essential element of this will be to track and monitor learner progress and provide effective feedback. A key area of this is building relationships with key stakeholders for example you will be expected to liaise with the Premier League IV and with other External Verifiers.

3. The Person
The successful candidate must hold a relevant teaching qualification such as QTS/QTLS/PGCE (or equivalent). You must have experience of working within a high performance sporting or education environment with young elite performers or equivalent educational experience. Experience of working within a Premier League or EFL Academy as well teaching in the Further Education sector BTEC Sport is advantageous.
We are looking for an individual capable of forming strong relationships and can support young people and empathise with the challenges and demands placed upon young elite performers.
Ideally, you will have experience of delivering BTEC Sporting Excellence and Performance (Level 3).
You must be available to work flexibly, which may include evenings and weekends as required around the needs of the players.
