1. The Department

Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded the prestigious Category One status accolade, demonstrating that we provide the highest level of quality coaching, education, training and facilities for our youth football provision.

The Boys Academy Education Department is responsible for delivering the Education provision to our Academy players aged between 14-16 and 16-18 on our full-time training programme to ensure that our players are reaching their highest potential both on and off the pitch.

To continue to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent at this level, we have a new, exciting opportunity for an Education Officer to join us on a part-time basis.  

2. The Role

This role will be responsible for supporting the management and delivery of the Education programme ensuring players achieve aspirational education outcomes. You will have a specific focus on the delivery of the Apprenticeship and Education provision for our Professional Development Phase (players aged 16-18 years old) making a real impact to their development

You will plan the delivery of the BTEC in Sporting Excellence Professional and the Sporting Excellence Professional Apprenticeship, ensuring outstanding lessons to improve players understanding on topics to support their performance.

An essential element of this will be to track and monitor learner progress and provide effective feedback. You may also support the delivery of the BTEC Level 2 in Sport working in conjunction with the Academy’s Education partner. This role will require you to work flexibly in your delivery as you will be working within a dynamic environment.

You will work collaboratively as part of the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and a key part of your role will be building positive and proactive relationships with all a range of stakeholders, including the Premier League and with other external verifiers.

3. The Person

We are looking for an individual capable of forming strong relationships and can support young people and empathise to the challenges and demands placed upon young elite performers.

You must hold a relevant teaching qualification such as QTS/QTLS/PGCE (or equivalent). You will need to have experience of working within a high performance or education environment and/or with young elite performers. Experience of working within a Premier League or EFL Academy as well teaching BTEC Sporting Excellence and Performance would also be advantageous.

You must be available to work flexibly, which may include evenings and weekends as required around the needs of the players.
