1. The Department
The Aston Villa Foundation is the official Charity of Aston Villa Football Club and prides itself in being innovative in its approach to the club being used as a ‘Force for Good’.
The Education and Skills Department is a newly formed arm to The Aston Villa Foundation and is critical in achieving success in various educational development programmes for young people, adults, and other targeted groups within inner city Birmingham. We have an exciting opportunity for a National Citizen Service (NCS) Team Assistant to join Aston Villa Foundation to motivate, guide, enthuse and maximise the learning for a team of young people going through the NCS journey.
The National Citizen Service (NCS) exists to engage, unite, and empower young people. It’s about building confidence so they can go out there and achieve their dreams, no matter of their background. The ambition of Aston Villa’s NCS programme is to give teenagers an opportunity to unleash their potential, to build self-belief and get them prepped for life after school.
2. The Role
The Aston Villa NCS programme will be on a residential and non-residential basis and as a Team Assistant you will support Team Leaders to ensure the successful delivery of the NCS experience. You will be appointed as a positive role model, to guide the NCS delivery curriculum and motivate a team of diverse young people. Team Assistants will also have the ability to take control of the team if the Team Leader cannot be present.
For further information about the Role, please see the Role Profile.
3. The Person
The Foundation are seeking Team Assistants with a positive and motivated attitude and a passion for building stronger communities and seeing change in society. The role will require you to support, stretch and maximise the learning for all the participants throughout the NCS Programme. To be considered for the role you will be needed to commit to 5 days of residential and be flexible with working hours during the second week as Social Action delivery may require evening work.
