1. The Department

Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded the prestigious category one status accolade, demonstrating that we provide the highest level of quality coaching, education, training and facilities for our youth football provision.

In order to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent at this level, we have a new, exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and proactive individual to join our Player Care Team working with the U15’s-18’s age groups.

2. The Role

Working within the Player Care team, you will be responsible for the delivery of the foundation and youth development phase player care and personal development program which will include planning, preparing, organising, managing and evaluating the program for your allocated age group.

As a Player Care Manager, you will lead the Personal Development and Wellbeing Programme for the 15-18’s, you will collaborate the multi-disciplinary team to ensure holistic development and that player personal development and wellbeing is at the center of player support. You will support players, parents and staff directly and give feedback on player development. You will be a designated safeguarding officer for the relevant age phases.

3. The Person

You must hold a qualification at degree level (or equivalent) in Sports Management, Sports Science, Sports Psychology or discipline relevant to the management and personal development of high performing individuals or experience.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting young elite performers with holistic support via personal development and wellbeing provision. You will need to have experience of working with young players prioritising safeguarding and duty of care. You will also need to be a confident user of technology and demonstratable experience of planning, delivery and monitoring of elite player development programs.

A qualification in Player Care, Performance Lifestyle, Mentoring and Coaching (or equivalent) is desirable.
