1. The Department

Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded the prestigious category one status accolade, demonstrating that we provide the highest level of quality coaching, education, training and facilities for our youth football provision.

In order to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent at this level we have an exciting opportunity for a U23 Professional Development Phase Coach.

2. The Role

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual who will be responsible in assisting the Senior Professional Development Phase Coach in the design and delivery of the U23 Professional Development Phase programme and the selection and management of the team in respect of all league, cup and friendly fixtures. This role will also have a specific focus and accountability around Units.

On a daily basis, you will liaise with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) including the Academy Manager, Head of Coach Development, Head of Technical Player Development and the U23 Professional Development Phase coaching staff on player progression and management of both training and game opportunities. This post will assist in the delivery of the technical and tactical development programme for the U23 squad in line with the Academy playing and Position Specific Philosophy and provide feedback to players both formally through the Performance Management Application (PMA), individual meetings, 6-week reviews and where appropriate parents and intermediaries.

3. The Person

As a minimum requirement, you will need to hold a UEFA A Licence and a FA Advanced Youth Award. You will also need an up-to-date Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAIF) qualification and be a member of the FA Licenced Coaches’ Club. A UEFA Pro Licence would be desirable.

The successful candidate will need to have experience of working in a similar role within Professional Football. Ideally, you will also have knowledge of the FA and Premier League Rules and Regulations with regards to Academies.

You must also be available to work flexibly as this role will require you to work evenings and weekends, and you should ideally hold a full, UK driving licence.
