1. The Department
Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded the prestigious category one status accolade demonstrating that we provide the highest level of quality coaching, education, training and facilities for our youth football provisions.
In order to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent at this level we have an exciting opportunity for a Physical Performance Scientist to join the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department.
2. The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Physical Performance Scientist to join our team.
The role will be accountable for designing, implementing, and reviewing the Academy Physical Performance and Data Analysis strategy to support our Academy players specifically working with our Professional Development Phase (PDP). You will contribute towards the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department’s vision of optimising player health, availability and performance through a multidisciplinary evidence-based physical performance analysis provision.
We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, has a passion for Data Analysis and visualisation with the ability to interpret complex multi data sets in context to the game and a desire to help players to surpass their potential. 3. The Person
To be considered for this role, you will need to hold the following qualifications:
* BSc (Hons) in Sport Science (minimum 2:1)
* MSc in related subject area
You must have demonstratable experience in data collection and physical performance analysis in elite youth footballers in a full-time capacity within a professional sporting environment. You will have a thorough understanding of Sport Science principles, including growth and maturation, injury prevention, rehabilitation and physical performance analysis in context to the game in addition to proficiency with data analysis and visulisation software such as Excel, PowerBi and/or Tableau.
You must be able to work in a team environment with previous demonstratable experience of working within interdisciplinary and Multi-Disciplinary Teams.
Knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (Category 1 Academy) and experience of the requirements of a Professional Development Phase environment would be desirable.
