1. The Department
Our Boys Academy Department has been awarded the prestigious category one status accolade demonstrating that we provide the highest level of quality coaching, education, training and facilities for our youth football provisions.
In order to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing talent at this level we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Foundation/Youth Development Phase Sport Scientist to join the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department. The successful applicant will be an integral part of a growing Sport Science team and will help to deliver the Sport Science provision across all ages within the Academy, with primary focus on the Foundation Phase (FP) and Youth Development Phase (YDP) (U9-U16)
2. The Role
In this role you will be contribute towards the Academy Sport Science and Medical Department’s vision of optimising player availability and performance through an elite evidence-based sports science provision. Working at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, you will plan and lead pre-training and match day movement activation sessions, in addition to taking a proactive approach towards delivering individualised athletic development sessions to FP and YDP players.

3. The Person
The successful candidate will hold a BSc (Hons) in Sport Science (or equivalent) and ideally MSc in Sport Science / Strength and Conditioning (or equivalent). It would also be desirable for you to have (or be working towards) a qualification in Strength and Conditioning (e.g. UKSCA) and have membership to the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).
You must have previous demonstrable experience of working with elite young athletes within a professional environment. You will need to have experience in leading group movement prep and strength and conditioning sessions. You will have the ability to construct, implement and review age-specific athletic development training programmes (gym and field-based), whilst being able to differentiate between FP and YDP.
