1. The Department
The Club are continuing our rapid growth trajectory both on and off the pitch, further expanding our commercial footprint with the launch of a brand-new retail store in the heart of Birmingham’s iconic Bullring shopping centre which is scheduled to open in May 2025.
The store design will take inspiration from our rich 150-year history incorporating cultural touchpoints from Villa Park whilst integrating a museum section that celebrates the Club’s deep-rooted connection to both Birmingham and football history.
The store will span 10,000 square feet across a ground and mezzanine floor which will showcase our full retail offering including our kits, training wear and a significant adidas collection.
We are now looking to build our team for the new store who will be responsible for creating a best-in-class customer experience which is inclusive and welcoming for all.
2. The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Retail Store Manager who will form a fundamental part of the management team in our new store. You will play a vital role in supporting the Retail Store Manager to oversee store operations, implement strategies for sales growth and, and leading the team and culture. You will be responsible for helping to manage a smooth and efficient operation, providing leadership to the retail team, and always ensuring excellent customer service.
Your key responsibilities will include supervising and supporting staff, assisting with inventory control, ensuring the store meets safety and visual merchandising standards. Your leadership and ability to motivate the team will contribute to the overall success and profitability of the store*.*

3. The Person
We are looking for an individual with proven experience in retail or assistant management role.
You must have strong leadership skills with previous experience in managing or supervising teams with a passion for developing people and the ability to motivate a team to deliver the ultimate customer service experience. You will need to have a solid understanding of retail operations with strong time management, attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure that objectives and deadlines are met. You must have excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
You must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable to changing demands and be able to resolve challenges quickly and effectively in a professional manner.
You must also be available to work flexibly as the Club requires, this will include evenings and weekends.
