1. The Department
The Finance Department plays a pivotal role at the Club in supporting our long-term ambitions both on and off the pitch. Operating at the heart of a fast-paced, high-performance environment, it is the engine that keeps our Club stable and able to compete sustainably. The team provides the insight and control that underpin our decisions – from managing budgets and cash flow to overseeing player transfers and regulatory reporting.
2. The Role
We are seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join us as Head of Procurement. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the function – you will have the freedom to define and deliver the Club’s procurement strategy to reduce costs, obtain value for money and to ensure that the Club is compliant and commercially always protected. You will drive value, improve efficiency and create a procurement culture that supports long-term growth – making a visible impact on our day-to-day operations to our major strategic projects.
You will proactively engage with budget holders to understand forward requirements and source suppliers, issue RFIs and RFQs and manage procurement end-to-end to drive costs down and mitigate supply risks.
You will be responsible for analysing spend data to identify trends, aggregation opportunities and cost efficiencies and keep up to date with current procurement practices and advise on any potential supply chain risks that may affect the Club’s internal and external delivery of operations. You will also lead on developing procurement policies, templates and standard terms to ensure consistent and commercial protection.
You will oversee the Club’s fleet operations, ensuring all vehicles, documentation, insurance, servicing and compliance requirements are maintained to the highest standard. You will also manage fuel cards, traffic violations and authorised‑driver records, keeping everything accurate, up to date and fully aligned our polices.

3. The Person
You must hold be a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) and have significant experience of working in a senior procurement role within complex and fast paced environments.
You must have experience in managing high-value capital expenditure projects (eg. infrastructure and training round) and managing supplier due diligence processes including financial stability assessments and compliance checks.
A key element of this role will be engaging and influencing a variety of internal stakeholders at all levels of the Club including senior management and non-financial stakeholders demonstrating integrity, inclusivity and high levels of accountability and resilience.
As part of the role, you may also be required to travel therefore you will need to have access to vehicle or have the ability to travel between our Club sites: Villa Park and Bodymoor Heath Training Ground as well as travelling to visit potential suppliers as and when required.
