1. The Department
The Marketing Department sits within the wider commercial department and plays a central role in a variety of exciting and important projects, working collaboratively with multiple departments daily to help achieve the club’s ambitious growth targets.
The club has made great progress on the pitch in recent seasons, but to continue to make progress on the pitch the commercial department must also take strides off the pitch, and therefore the marketing department are seeking to expand the team with a Commercial Marketing Manager to help drive forward several key commercial pillars for the club.
Looking ahead, Aston Villa Football Club has commenced work on a bold regeneration project at Villa Park, that will build on the Club’s 150-year heritage, while also creating the fan experience zone of the future, and the marketing team will be at the centre of bringing this to life.
2. The Role
You will be responsible for driving key strategic initiatives for Aston Villa, including premium matchday and stadium products, conference and events, music concerts, and any other projects designed to transform Villa Park into a 365 day a year destination. This role involves executing all potential revenue-generating avenues within the club's commercial marketing program.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of fully integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring all campaigns are communicated through the business and delivered on brand across all touchpoints. You will also drive the development and delivery of a comprehensive brand marketing strategy to strengthen the identity of the Villa Park brand and set the vision for growth, cementing Villa Park as a leading events venue in the UK.

3. The Person
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working in a similar product marketing role, and will be a passionate self-starter who will demonstrate ownership of projects to ensure targets are achieved. You must have experience in maximising B2B & High-Net worth B2C campaign strategies.
You will have the ability to write, manage, and execute integrated marketing campaigns utilising a full range of marketing tools and channels and understand digital/social best practice, marketing insight, CRM, brand, and the broader resources within the marketing department to ensure full functionality of capabilities are realised in respect of every campaign.
You will work individually and as part of a team, whilst building relationships at all levels of the business, and have exceptional verbal communication skills which are clear, concise, and accurate to internal/external stake holders. You must also have the ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines and multitask on multiple projects and priorities appropriately. You will also be creative with a keen eye for attention to detail with strong analytical/research skills.
This role will require you to work flexible hours as the Club requires, this may include matchday working, evenings and weekends, and other stadium events as required. You will also need access to a vehicle or have the ability to travel between our Club sites, including Villa Park, London Office, and Bodymoor Heath Training Ground.
