2.The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Safety Officer to join our team based at Villa Park. You will act as deputy for the Safety Officer on matchdays and non-match days acting as principal Safety Officer as required. You will also be part of a cadre of Safety Officers for WSL and U23s at the stadium. You will attend planning and pre-event meetings and briefings as required or in the absence of the Head of Department or Safety Officer and ensure compliance with the Stadium Safety Certificate and related legislative requirements in force at any given time.
Within your role, you will also be part of the safety officer cadre for planning concerts and events at the stadium on behalf of the lead Safety Officer, assessing applicable regulatory requirements for the Club.

3.The Person
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have experience in working as a safety officer or deputy for a capacity of 10,000 and above, have experience in event management with an understanding and awareness of the relevant applicable legislation for venues and events. You will have an understanding and experience of crowd safety management in a multi-agency environment e.g., Local Authority or emergency services.
This is a busy role that requires you to have strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions quickly in a fast-paced operational environment. Ideally you will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with different audiences. You will also be a proactive, self-starter who acts with a high level of integrity.
