1. The Department
The First Team Scouting Department provide detailed information, analysis, and recommendations to key stakeholders regarding the recruitment of prospective Men’s First Team players. Our ultimate goal is to contribute to the continued success and growth of the Men’s First Team performance whilst supporting emerging talent operations to maintain a longer-term approach to squad building and succession planning.
In order to deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging and developing such talent we have an exciting opportunity for an Emerging Talent Scout to join the First Team Emerging Talent and Loans department that situates as a conduit between the Boys Academy and Men’s First Team departments.
2. The Role
We are looking for an Emerging Talent Scout to join our Team. The role will be based at Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, and you will also be expected to work flexibly and travel to partner clubs and matches to watch scouting targets (including international travel) as and when required.
You will be responsible for liaising with the Head of Emerging Talent and Loans to identity, monitor and report on target teams and players utilising a combination of video and live scouting in line with the Club’s recruitment strategy.
You will play a vital role in compiling and collating reports, developing a strong understanding of current players at the Club when assessing new prospective signings and effectively using data to make holistic and evidence-based recommendations regarding target players.
Playing an integral part of our scouting network, you will actively participate in scout meetings to present rationale and informed conclusions on players that have been reported on within the Emerging Talent remit whilst updating the Head of Scouting Operations at all times.

3. The Person
We are seeking an organised, passionate and self-motivated professional to join our expanding team as the Club builds on its current success, it will be an opportunity to make a real difference whilst learning new skills on the job.
You will have previous experience of working within scouting or coaching capacity at a professional Football Club, preferably at a First Team Level. You must hold the FA Talent ID Level 2 qualification and need to be highly IT literate with a fast and efficient learning ability.
You will need a full UK Driving Licence with access to your own vehicle. This role will require working flexibly including evenings, weekends, matchdays and international travel as the role requires.
