1. The Department

Our Girls Academy Department has established itself as a leader in girls youth football development, consistently delivering the highest standards in coaching, education and training across 10 teams with players aged U10 – U21. We are committed to nurturing talent and creating a supportive and professional environment and we are proud of the role we play in shaping the next generation of female footballers as demonstrated in our recent success with our U21s winning the Professional Game Academy Plate.

To support our continued growth and success of our programme, we are looking for a proactive and experienced Physical Performance Coach to join the team.

2. The Role

Working as a Physical Performance Coach Lead, you will oversee the Physical Performance department and manage the Youth Development Phase physical performance staff to ensure that all delivery is in line with the Club’s syllabus and philosophy.

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of a Sports Science and Strength and Conditioning programme to players within the Girls Players Pathway (U9 – U21s) with a focus on U21s, include profiling, pre-training preparation, post-training strategies, field-based conditioning and general sports science support.

You will work closely and effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide an integrated approach to performance enhancement and align the physical programme with the First Team to support the smooth transition of our players into our First Team environment.

3. The Person

You must hold a BSc in Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning (or equivalent) and have a UK Strength and Conditioning (UKSCA) Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) qualification (or the ability to obtain within 6 months).

You must have proven experience working with elite athletes in a sports environment, providing evidence based physical performance support to athletes in coach to improve performance, ideally within a professional football environment.

We are seeking a practical and organised professional with a calm and positive attitude. You will need to have clear, concise, and accurate verbal and written communication skills and be able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

This role will require flexibility and travel, which will include evenings, weekends and matchdays.
