1. The Department

The Matchday Stewarding and Security Team have a vital role on a matchday ensuring the safety of all persons attending the venue in addition; enabling the operation to run smoothly providing customer satisfaction for those attending Villa Park. The team work hard and are dedicated to ensuring the operation runs effectively on matchdays, creating a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for all attendees.

 

2. The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Security and Matchday Staffing Coordinator to join our team based at Villa Park. This is a pivotal role ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet the security needs of the day-to-day operation, matchdays and events to enable a smooth security operation at the stadium.

You will be responsible for developing and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for security/stewarding position, coordinate the recruitment process, and the onboarding of any new security and stewarding and work in partnership with external recruitment agencies ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained to meet the security needs of the stadium operation. You will also be the first point of contact for any matchday stewards and security staff related matters (escalating and consulting with HR as and when appropriate), arrange security shift cover and maintain rotas to ensure monthly wages are accurate.

You will also play an active role in developing and implement training programs for security an matchday personnel to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively and also develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard the Club premises, assets, and conduct regular drills and exercises to evaluate security protocols and procedures and identify areas for improvement.

3. The Person

This is a varied role that requires you to have strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions quickly in a fast-paced operational environment.  Ideally you will have experience of recruitment resourcing and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential staffing issues as they arise.

You must have knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies, including access control systems, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems, with the ability to develop and deliver security training.

You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with different audiences.  You will also be a proactive, self-starter who acts with a high level of integrity.

You must be available to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on matchday fixtures and other events at the Club.
