1. The Department

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Social Media Lead to join our Content and Digital department. The post holder will work a dynamic and fast paced environment within the social media team – alongside the wider Content team (editorial, video) delivering outstanding coverage and content that resonates with our fanbase.

2. The Role

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Social Media Lead that has experience in social media platform management and journalism.

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day content output and distribution across all of the first team social media platforms, which include: X, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, WhatsApp, etc. This post will also be responsible for providing live coverage of matches across platforms, predominantly X/Twitter.

You will also help develop a comprehensive strategy for creating and distributing content, while working collaboratively with the rest of the social team, video department, editorial team and marketing and partnerships team.

3. The Person

We are looking for a content professional with a desire to help grow and enhance our coverage and content strategy at the club.

The ideal candidate will have previous demonstrable experience in social media platform management for a sports organisation or brand with knowledge of current social media trends and best practices, journalism experience and some experience in the use of Adobe Suite. Ideally, this person will have a level of experience working in football.

You must be able to communicate in a clear, concise and accurate manner, manage multiple creative projects effectively and be able to make effective and quick decisions in a fast-place sporting environment.

You must also be available to work flexibly as this role will require you to work evenings and weekends and hold a full UK driving licence.
