1.      The Department

Our Girls’ Academy is renowned for delivering exceptional leadership, coaching and education, and setting the highest standards for girls youth football development. We are dedicated to creating a supportive environment that provides the guidance and resources necessary for players to reach their full potential, whilst also growing into well-rounded individuals. Our holistic approach ensures that every player is supported in their development, both on and off the pitch.

As part of our ambitious vision to inspire, nurture, and develop the next generation of elite footballers, we are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a dedicated, passionate, and proactive individual to join our team as the U21s Head Coach. This role is perfect for someone eager to make a significant impact, drive performance, and play a key role in shaping the future of the Girls Academy.

2.      The Role

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and development of our U21 programme, helping both players and staff reach their full potential on and off the pitch. You will  be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching to the U21 programme - driving the tactical, technical, and personal growth of each player while guiding and mentoring staff to ensure alignment with the club’s high-performance plan. A typical day will involve leading high intensity training sessions, overseeing development and recruitment of the squad, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team, and tailoring individual development plans. You will prepare the squad for matchday, implement the club’s playing philosophy, and review performance to fine-tune tactics. Your leadership will not only influence matchday success but also contribute to the long-term development of our Academy players and staff, creating the optimal environment for them to thrive.

For further information about the Role, please see the Role Profile.

3.      The Person

We are looking for a driven, knowledgeable, and dynamic coach with a strong background in working with elite youth development players. You must hold a UEFA A licence (or be actively working towards it) with current FA Safeguarding and First Aid training certification. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of player development, tactical and technical coaching, with a strong record of delivering team success and individual development, ultimately building high-performance environments.  We are looking for someone who can inspire, guide and build relationships with a range of stakeholders.

This role will require you to work flexibility including matchday, evening and weekends and you will need a UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

As part of your application you will be asked to:

1. Upload your CV

2. Answer the following question: Please outline your key skills, qualities and experience which make you the ideal candidate for this role (400 words maximum)

3. Ideally, please provide a link to a video clip of you delivering a coaching session to a team – this should be no longer than 30 minutes and should demonstrate the main session ie. not the warm up.
