1. The Department

As part of the wider Facilities and Estates Department, the Pitch Grounds Team at Bodymoor Heath are responsible for looking after the playing surfaces for the Men and Women’s First Teams and our Boys and Girls Academies across 3 sites.  We have an opportunity for a Grounds Person to join our team to help us ensure that our Training playing surfaces are prepared and maintained to the highest possible standard.

2. The Role

This role will be part of the wider Pitch Grounds team at Bodymoor Training Ground. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include grass cutting, marking out, re-seeding, aerating, fertilising and verti-cutting across our 17 playing surfaces.

This will be a varied, hands-on and active role which will include working outside in changing and often inclement weather conditions.

3. The Person  

You will need to have proven experience working in a similar role, being able to work as part of a dedicated, wider team but also independently when required. We are looking for someone who can communicate in a clear and concise way and use their own initiative to problem solve.

You should ideally have an NVQ Diploma (Level 2) in Horticulture/Sports Turf or equivalent, Spraying PA1, PA2, PA6 and have previous experience of working on professional football pitches

You will need to be available to work flexibly as the Club requires, this will include training sessions and matchday working (U21s, Women’s and Boys and Girls Academy), evenings and weekends.
