1. The Department

The Women's Football Department consists of our Senior First team who compete in the Barclays Women's Super League, the highest league in the country for professional women's football. The department also consists of a full youth academy structure, ages ranging from U9 through to U21 Academy programme.

In continuing our journey and building for the future, we are focusing our efforts to ensure our Women's Team have the resources in place to help us deliver our ambitious plans for nurturing, encouraging, and developing talent and striving to become a leading force in women’s football.

2. The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and experienced Physical Performance Lead to join our Women’s Football Team.

Working as a Physical Performance Lead, you will be responsible for the management of the Women’s First Team Sports Performance Science Department. You will contribute towards the Sport Science and Performance vision of optimizing player availability and performance through an elite evidence-based sport science provision, specifically working with elite level players and a wider Performance Support Team.

3. The Person

The successful candidate must hold a BSc in Sports Science (or a related field), have a UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSAC) Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) Qualification and have experience of working within Professional Football as a Physical Performance or Sports Scientist specifically with elite athletes. You must also hold the FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF)

We are seeking a proactive and organised professional with a calm and positive attitude. You will need to have clear, concise, and accurate verbal and written communication skills and be able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Competent use of Microsoft Tools for presentations and a BASES Accredited Sports Scientist is desirable.

This role will require flexibility and travel, which will include evenings, weekends and matchdays.
